I mentioned yesterday that I was experimenting with some white silk and wool, thinking I would make a bridal wrap or stole. I wanted to see how using an extra large length and width of silk would go on my table (logistics!).
Well, it definitely ended up large! Over 2 metres in length and nice and wide. I nuno felted down both long sides about 6 inches in from the edge and created rosettes throughout the centre which created a nice textured effect. Tencel added to the merino wool gives a beautiful sheen.
As I was draping it on the mannequin, I was thinking if I was more of dressmaker I could make something quite special from this length of silk! But, I'm not so a bridal wrap it shall remain unless some other clever person out there see's its potential.
