Hi folks. Ive been caught up with hubby's shoulder op and making aprons, dyeing silk and other bits and bobs over the last few weeks. So my blog has missed out a bit! Have you all been well? Hows the weather in your neck of the woods? Its been stinking hot here which I don't like. I'm a winter/green girl myself.
I can't grizzle too much though. The above beach is only a hop, skip and jump away. So its not all bad!
But on another note. I don't know if I've mentioned before, but my family consists of a few artists. I have 4 brothers, one of which is a metal/wrought iron sculptor and two of the others are ceramists extraordinaire. One (my younger brother), amongst his many talents creates amazing mosiacs and ceramic teapots. I must get a photo of one for you. The other (older) brother, Phil Scantlebury. Has been experimenting with ceramics and glazes for years and is finally taking the jump to entering a piece in an exhibition in Toorak, NSW later in the year.
It takes a lot of courage for an artist to commit to an exhibition and I am so proud of him. I love his work - different, unusual! And thought I would share one of his pieces with you titled Reflection
Take it easy folks and I'll catch up soon.
x Julie
