My daughter was doing a clean out of her wardrobe. Selling frocks that had been impulse buys and never worn to ones that hadn't been worn for a while and outdated. It was then she came out of her room wearing a little number that she loved but was way too short (even for her who has legs up to her armpits! I'm just jealous...), so I suggested lengthening it with something.
Off to the stash I went....
and found....
Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a pic of the dress before. But this lace worked perfectly, picking up colours in the frock. She didn't want the bottom flaring anymore than it did already and this straight lace fit the bill!
It actually ended up being easy to sew and I think it looks very pretty and gave her the added length that it needed.
She was just about to sell off an ex- bridesmaid dress made from a nice deep red silk dupion, so I took that as payment for the lace :-) I'm sure I can find something exciting to do with it!
