Howdy folks.
Thought I would drop by with what Ive been up to lately.
Well other that head down bum up working towards a group exhibition in a few weeks, I felt the need to play with some paper and stitch.
Having a new sketch book handy I thought I would layer some of my silk fusion papers, silk carrier rods and tissue to create a collage to adhere to the book.
The process was first to paint a strip of canvas in gold acrylic and let that dry.
I then lay down a piece of gold silk fusion paper, some torn tissue in black and gold then stretched out a few lovely silk carrier rods in rich red to their lacy fullness to pop on top.
More gold silk paper and a flower torn from the tissue was layered on top of the rods.
This was then machine embellished and attached to the canvas in gold and red with finally a little gold bee sewn to the flower.
After painting the sketch book in different red tones, I adhered the collage to the book cover with gloss medium and then painted over the whole lot with the medium to seal it.
I can feel a few of these coming on! Its nice to step away from the felting periodically!
On that note
Have a good day
