Craft Room Organisation

Well, its holiday time here in the South West and with it comes the heat and the flies, not to mention city folks who are trying my patience just a little....."love and light, love and light" as Doreen Virtue would say when you are getting stuck into wanting to throttle people...;-)

So, thinking of good things instead. Organising my craft area! What to do, what to do when one is limited in space?

As I am renting and cannot do too much here for the moment, I thought I would live vicariously through other studios and spaces. Here's some great ideas I found after scouring the net with links to their sites.

Clever ways to store fabric
Wire baskets for easy viewing of fabric - I like this one

thread and bobbin tidy
Great idea for keeping threads and bobbins together. We live near a golf course. I'm sure I can pick up a few tee's from there.

Peg board tidy
A peg board - I could have lots of fun here and great idea for the studio in our new place!

Now I am a hoarder by nature, a messy one at that and things tend to be left in piles and the clutter around me is stupendous! So one of the best ideas I have picked up over the last few days and have decided to make it my New Years resolution, was found in a book I am reading called Power Words by Sharon Klingler. It is.......FILE IT, DON'T PILE IT!  This has become my mantra whenever I go to put something down, including my sewing or craft when I have finished with it for the day. And the difference in my work space (so far) is amazing. It is wonderful the difference a tidy space is to work in!

well, I'm off now as I see some fabric that needs folding and putting 'somewhere'.

Ta ta x
