I have noticed myself getting a little 'staid' in appearance. It must be Winter, because I'm living in jeans and jumpers. Everything a different shade of grey or black. And the only thing brightening my wardrobe are my scarves! Must do something about that! Maybe because of that I have been leaning to lighter more whimsical items to make and wear. Ive been attracted to pastels lately (must be pining for Spring) and found some amazing homespun merino wool on line which I availed myself to.
The first was a beautiful soft lavender toned one which I have combined with strips of dyed silk habutai that I happened to have on hand. Weaving the two together with a huge crochet hook left these very cute bows popping out.
The other is an amazing variegation of purples,blues and pinks. Just like the New Zealand Paua Shell from where the wool comes from. That one is being turned into a little bag and when its finished I'll pop it up to show you.
I have to admit I am attracted (distracted) by bright shiny things or new wool for that matter so I think I am going to have to go shopping again. That or learn how to spin!
