Howdy! Its Spring and as I was driving into town today I spotted these wild ducks with their new brood. Doesn't Dad (at the front) look protective? Too cute.
I thought I would show you a little mixed media collage that my beautiful eldest daughter Jasmine has created using my silk paper.
Using a stretched canvas she has laid down a wash of acrylic then glued white silk paper over. The texture has allowed the colour of the paint to come through. Then she has applied texture paste in the shape of the branch across which has then been allowed to dry. The details of the branch has been painted in using a number of different mediums and then cut out petal shapes from some rust coloured silk paper has been glued on then detailed with paint .
This was a series of three small canvasses with the beginning of the tree on the first canvas which branched out over to the other two. She's a clever girl! And they look fantastic in her bedroom which has an Asian theme. Nice. I will go and take another pic next week to show you the three together.
